Pakistani dramas broadcaster entertainment channels including Hum TV, ARY Digital, Urdu 1, A Plus and many more are no doubt far better than previous dramas we all watched. Our drama stories were best when PTV was the sole owner of entertainment industry. Some famous dramas of prevn enious era were Dhoop Kinaray, Tanhaiyan and Dhuwan.
Indian entertainment industry ruled our lives for more than 5 years time through their channels including colors, zee, star plus and Sony. On the other hand, the media became a private in the regime of General Pervaiz Musharaf. This led to more drama content on entertainment channels and many amazing writers found their platforms to exhibit their talent. All this led to competition of quality in dramas. Quality dramas were written, directed and produced inside Pakistani Industry with better activities. With such versatile actors in the Pakistani drama industry, our actors are getting offers from Bollywood for example Fawad Khan who recently did his debut film in Bollywood “Khoobsurat” with Sonam Kapoor after doing great acting in Zindagi Gulzar hai and Humsafar.
No doubt with the years of experience, one cannot deny that Pakistani dramas are a notch above the rest. With quality in entertainment, the Pakistani audience is hooked to entertainment channels throughout the week . There are few reasons why Pakistani industry is leading in terms of quality. One basic fact is storyline of our dramas. The dramas are based on social issues we all face at certain points of our lives. Our dramas do not belong to the fantasy world that an audience cannot link . It is almost like unfolding lives of our audience. Our content is not glamorized by heavy wardrobe including clothes and jewelry just like Indian dramas where ladies are working in kitchen with heavy banarsi saris and gold jewelry. Our characters and storyline is completely focused on the substance of the drama. It is a positive point of our dramas that makes us part of quality dramas that our storywriters not only show social problem but also gives a solution to this.
We have come far in this journey of Pakistani drama industry’s progress and for sure, there is no turning back! Aren’t we all proud of our actors, writers, directors and producers for coming up with such quality products?
